Bullying isn’t new, but today it’s harder to escape. When I was a student, I was bullied, but once I got home I could leave it behind for the night. Today, cell phones and social media mean many students feel surrounded by it 24/7.

That’s why the ​👁️‍🗨️ “Be a Hero” assembly is so important. This  program shows students how empathy can transform them from bystanders into modern-day heroes. Students leave not only entertained but empowered with empathy to open their eyes, not ignore, speak up, and make things right. These acts can curb bullying before it gets to a place where it even needs reported.

Students will learn to Be a HERO that:
  • Helps the One - you may not be able to do everything but you can do something
  • Exits and Reports - understands the difference between tattling and reporting
  • Reaches out later - check back in with the peer
  • Owns the Culture - take responsibility and positively add to the school community

I speak to more than 10,000 students each year, but my story started differently. Diagnosed with dyslexia, learning delays, and a severe stutter, I was told not to pursue public speaking. Yet today, I’m living proof of what happens when caring adults invest in young people. That’s why I believe students can rise above challenges and why I believe they can be heroes for one another.
All "Rock Your Mic" assemblies blend 100% positive humor, multimedia, crowd interaction, and education to deliver powerful life-skill messages students will remember.

We deliver the same truths caring adults say, but we put "Rock Your Mic" flavor on it to make it digestible.
